Jim Brookes - Non-executive Director

A guiding light in the emerging philosophy of IT support, it was Jim whose early visionary thinking led to the development of the ITIL guidelines and standards that have improved IT support services across the whole industry.

Jim has worked with RMS for more than 15 years bringing with him his extensive knowledge of the IT world. His particular focus is on developing and growing organisations and managing business change underpinned by ICT, based on his wide experience of running very large scale IT and network operations.

Currently, he participates in a number of government advisory committees. He has recently provided both strategic and implementation advice to Local Authorities, the Police Service, and to Central Government on a wide range of issues including eGovernment, ‘Best Value’ reviews and transformation projects.

Jim devotes a good deal of his time to influential strategic work with bodies such as the Society of IT Management and the Parliamentary IT Committee. He continues to inspire RMS to work directly with our customers, to anticipate both their changing needs and the ever-shifting environment in which we all operate.
