RMS Enterprise Manager can operate in a number of different modes
Capturing information from existing deployed management products. A range of standard product interfaces for the ‘best of breed' management products such as HP Openview, BMC Patrol, Cisco Works are included. These products often operate independently outside the Service Management function but Enterprise Manager can interrogate and correlate their information and report a complete view to the Service Management operation (e.g. Service Desk and beyond).
Capturing availability and capacity information directly from the infrastructure. Enterprise Manager can directly capture events from a wide range of Network, Systems and Application event sources without the need for local agent or monitoring systems.
Provide end-to-end service monitoring and management. Enterprise Manager's Service Availability module can monitor and measure service response times and report failures and 'slow-downs'. Examples include Databases, Web servers, Email, File and Print.
