RMS Enterprise Monitor is an infrastructure monitoring and management solution developed from the award winning WideAwake™ technology that powers the RMS Enterprise Management suite.
It has been developed specifically for the Windows environment to deliver a flexible, out of the box solution for gathering status and utilisation information. RMS Enterprise Monitor can also monitor any SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) enabled device and provide basic availability information for any IP device via it's built in polling engine.
RMS Enterprise Monitor runs on a standard Windows Server environment. Target devices are automatically discovered and listed as available for configuration. There is no agent software to be loaded on the target devices and Windows systems do not require additional components to be enabled (i.e. SNMP); this enables fast implementation with zero impact on the monitored systems.
RMS Enterprise Monitors are normally deployed locally on infrastructure sub-networks to discover, monitor and gather information from the local systems and networked devices.
The information accessed and retrieved from Windows operating systems, Applications and SNMP MIBs, is configured via the GUI WEB based console.
All information retrieved is stored locally, analysed and displayed in an appropriate format, e.g. utilisation graph, systems status via the WEB interface, which can be accessed locally or remotely. Information can be filtered against pre-defined parameters and selected elements made available for uploading to the enterprise for further analysis and reporting.
RMS Enterprise Monitor is much more than a metric collection and analysis tool, it provides a powerful local management capability that can be configured to take real-time recovery or remedial actions to maintain service availability. For example; Services that have stopped can be restarted automatically, the action and result is reported to local console and/or Service Desk.
