RMS Services ITIL Service Portfolio Management
The Service Portfolio describes a provider’s service in terms of business value. Service Portfolio Management is a method for governing the investment in service management across the enterprise and managing them for value.
The RMS solution supports Service Portfolio Management by:
- Providing a service catalogue to record the details of each business service, including the value to the business, which can be differentiated from, but related to, IT services
- Linking incidents, problems and changes to services so that the number and the effort/cost involved in maintaining the service can be understood against the benefit received
- Planned and retired services can also be included, so that a complete record is maintained
- Documents can be stored against the service record, including definitions, analysis, approval and charter details
- Recoding the dependency of business services on IT services so that the impact of events and planned changes to components can be related directly to the business impact, providing Business Service Management
